West Covina Plaza
Does anyone remember the old West Covina Plaza (pre-Broadway)? I remember Marty's Music, Coffee Dan's and Newberry's. Does anyone remember what other stores there were and the layout of where the stores were in relation to each other? Posted by Cecesnana a 58 year old on 03/12/06

I recall that there was a UCB bank on the north end; that's where my parents banked. A few doors to the south was a Thrifty drug store. It had a lunch counter that served the best pineapple sundaes. I think there was also a market, maybe a Market Basket? on the south side. Posted by Kjm a 49 year old from Hershey PA on 03/13/06

The market was Shopping Bag. There was also Green's Menswear, Sporty Knit, Woolworths, JC Penney, Sears Catalog Store, The Home Shop, Toy World, Western Auto, and more. Posted by EHS on 03/14/06

I would love to have photos of that plaza - especially Coffe Dans. It it's the area I am thinking of, the Fernwood Inn (a lounge) was right there, as well as Snyder's butcher shop. The Pantry Bakery was close by and it was "Center Market" across the street. Is that the area? Posted by CAL a 40 year old on 12/26/07
