Animal Awareness Fair
This August 23, 2008 my fellow cadets and I will be holding a Community Animal Awareness Fair in order to earn our Girl Scout Silver Award. The Silver Award is the second highest award that any Girl Scout can earn and my fellow cadets and I are looking forward to working on our Silver award project. We chose this project because we believe that keeping our friends, family and animals safe is one of the most important things in life. I would like to gear my Awareness Fair toward the abandoned animals in our community. With the resent economic slow down and people loosing their homes and jobs there has been a large amounts of animals that are being abandoned on our streets daily. I feel that by educating the community about this problem and giving them the resources needed we can all help to decrease the over crowding at the local shelters and rescue centers. Your presence or contribution to the Awareness Fair could help to make it a memorable learning experience and increase animal awareness in our community. We will also be taking donations of much needed items in order to help the local shelters care for these lost little souls. The fair will be held on August 23rd at the Covina Program Center, in Covina,CA from 12 noon to 4pm. I appreciate any other suggestions, help or participation you can offer, please contact me if you can help or participate in anyway.

Sorry we missed the Animal Awareness Fair. We heard about it via our Girl Scout Troop (100), but already had my husband's company picnic on the 23rd, so we were unable to join you. Did it turn out well? Posted by Paulinski a 46 year old from Covina on 08/25/08
