Covina Cinema Gone!
Yikes, The Covina Cinema has been torn down. There must be lots of memories of that place... Please share them here. Posted by Tim a 45 year old on 5/24/04

I was only in there twice, both times in the 80's I believe.....once when it was the cheapie theater (can't remember, was it $1??) where they always had two movies showing, I went only to sit in the balcony...I had heard there was a balcony & was intrigued, but the balcony had been closed by the fire department, I was very disappointed. I also went once to see the Rocky Horror Picture Show, I thought we were just going to see a movie, had no idea it was going to be like that, what a shock!! Are the Champions restoring the treasured marquee? Apparently there were some unexpected construction/demolition challenges once they dug in, there. Has anyone seen the plans for the new theater? I have heard that it is supposed to be pretty dern cool. No recollection of how I got in, exactly, but experienced Rocky Horror Picture Show there first, hurling bread, as a very young teenager. Susan Sarandon and Tim Curry are both still among my favorite actors. Gosh, I haven't seen a theater movie in years.
Which brings up a completely unconnected point...If you haven't seen 'To Live & Die in L. A.', that's my most up-to date video pick. Posted by ArborTender from Covina on 5/24/04
